The University of Connecticut Libraries is seeking applicants for a position as a Reference/Liaison Librarian (rank to be determined).  Under the general direction of and reporting to the Head of Research and Instruction Services (RIS), this position will participate in the service programs of the RIS Area.  These include reference, research assistance, instruction, the creation of print and web-based guides, and the development of knowledge access and knowledge management tools. Working within the Area's team-based structure, this position assists in the development and implementation of Area services. Working within the Libraries' Academic Liaison Program, this position serves as the Libraries' liaison to university programs in Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Latino & Puerto Rican Studies and the Spanish Section of the Modern & Classical Languages Department, selecting materials for these programs and promoting scholarly communication resources within these areas. Working in collaboration with the Principal Bibliographer, participates in regional collection development planning for Latin American & Caribbean Studies.  Under the general direction of the Head of Archives & Special Collections, develops, services and promotes the Hispanic History and Culture Collections at the Dodd Research Center.
